MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s finally Friday, which means it’s time to look at several events happening across the greater Memphis area this weekend. There is something for everyone.
Let’s get started with Brew Hop Week! From now until Sunday, explore nine local brews, live music, and great food. Tickets are free, and there is transportation today and tomorrow.
You can catch a free ride from any of the locations. The bus will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, and from noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday. This weekend wraps up the city’s first week-long celebration of downtown craft breweries.
Tonight is Family Fun Friday! Join the City of Memphis at 6 p.m. on Friday for free activities for the kids, carnival rides, and free food for the first 500 attendees. It will be held at the Raleigh Bartlett Meadows Park. That event wraps up at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, the Overton Park Conservancy is popping up waterslides on the greensward! The event is free and will begin at 10 a.m. at Overton Park.
After that, head over to Downtown Memphis for “Worldwide Knit in Public Day.” There will be interactive demonstrations for those who want to learn the art of knitting. The event is held at Stitching Supply along Poplar and ends at 5 p.m. It is free to attend.
Saturday is also Global Wellness Day. This free community event is geared toward promoting rest and holistic well-being to those in the area. There will be free chair massages, guided meditation, pilates, and kid-friendly activities.
The free event is being held at the River Garden Park in Downtown Memphis starting at 5 p.m.
Sunday funday is Father’s Day! Lots of things are planned for the best dads in the world.
