New look Tigers with positions to fill as Fall camp gets underway

MEMPHIS — Huge thank you to the Memphis athletics staff who supplied the media with rosters ahead of the start of fall camp for the Tigers.

Yeah, there’s that many new faces for Ryan Silverfield and company. A team that returns just a handful of starters from the team that went 11 and 2 a season ago.

An almost total turnover of the two deep roster means the expectations… outside the program… not as high as year’s past.

Sitting a month away from the season opener, this is ‘prove it’ time for the new guys in the blue and gray. So pay little attention to the depth chart right now.

“There is no true depth charts. I showed yesterday, blank, white screens. Everybody’s got a blank slate. Even what you did in spring, that doesn’t mean anything, right? Some guys have done some really nice things in the offseason,” Silverfield said. “I don’t control the depth chart. The players do by how they play. This early in camp, we just want to see who can play football at a high level.”>

As for those expectations, Greg Desrosiers says doubt this Tiger team at your own risk.

“I’ve never been someone who people have really talked about. I’ve always been the underdog. I always come out of the blue. As a team as well, people are going to be surprised for sure,’ Desrosiers said. “Shock the world, for sure.”

Memphis opens the 2025 season when it hosts Chattanooga on August 30th.
