Memphis Slim Collaboratory seeks to be a space where art, music, culture, and collaboration collide. The namesake Memphis Slim was a legendary blues artist. That foundation directly ties into Memphis being known as the home of the blues, largely because of Memphis Slim and his work.

Beyond being a hub for Memphis creatives and musicians, Memphis Slim Collaboratory also seeks to be a space for community to convene. We are fortunate in our recording element of our organization to lift that and give that to artists at an affordable, accessible rate. We also have spaces where there may be larger scale community parties or artists hosting larger sessions where we can use our upstairs space, that’s more of an art gallery for us right now but certainly serves as a space for artists to come in and expand their footprint and bring their following back to the house.

The work here at Memphis Slim Collaboratory for us is critically important to the creative economy of our city for a very specific reason. One, there is no other place in the world that has transformed how we listen to sound in the way Memphis has done so. Beyond how we transform how we listen to sound; we transform how people experience culture.

Slim House’s mission is to educate, support, and inspire the Memphis music community to create a culturally vibrant city and spread Memphis music throughout the world.
