A TORNADO WATCH has been issued for all of eastern Arkansas, as well as Tipton, Lauderdale, Dyer, Haywood, and Crockett counties in Tennessee.
A line of showers and thunderstorms will move into the Mid-South later tonight, mainly after 8pm.
Expect storms to move into eastern Arkansas first, and then into west Tennessee and north Mississippi after 10pm.
The overall severe weather threat is low, as the line of storms will be on a weakening trend as it moves into the Mid-South. But, an isolated severe storm is possible. The main concern will be strong, damaging wind gusts. A brief, spin-up tornado can not be ruled out, but is more likely over eastern Arkansas. Briefly heavy rain will also accompany these storms, but flooding is not expected to be an issue.
