MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Six men were arrested after undercover officers raided a North Memphis duplex. Police said they found heroin, marijuana, and other drugs.

It happened on Saturday in the 800 block of Breedlove near Vollintine.

The list of charges Deshaun Johnson, Daniel Lagrone, Antonio Taylor, Torrey Thomas, Stephen Moore and Ladarrius Evans are facing is stacked.

They’re accused of running a drug ring, selling a range of different drugs out of a North Memphis duplex on Breedlove.

“I knew something was going on–they were all down the street–they were everywhere through here,” said Louis Dancy.

Dancy lives across the street from where the undercover officers raided over the weekend.

Detectives rammed the front door, used a K-9 to nab the accused dealers.

A next door neighbor watched it go down.

“They just loaded up folks with dogs, searched the house and took people down,” he said.

The target of the raid was Deshaun Johnson AKA “Bald Head” but officers got a whole lot more than just Johnson.

According to an affidavit, a search of the duplex and cars revealed several bottles of Codeine, multiple bags of marijuana, two bags of heroin, three bottles of a strong medicine used to help surgery patients, a loaded gun, digital scale and unused syringes.

The arrest brings some relief for people like Mr. Dancy.

“I try to keep out of their business. I try not to bother with them,” he said.

It’s also good news for parents.

The house sits just a block and a half from Gordon Elementary and is close to a Boys and Girls Club.

This is a path some people in the community are doing their best to keep these kids from going down.

“If you ever sell drugs–you gonna get caught up. You going to go to jail and if you don’t go to jail, you’re going to end up being dead out here,” said Darrick Smith.

Police also confiscated more than $1,100 in cash and two cars.
