MEMPHIS, Tenn. –Crime scene tape could be seen in the parking lot of a popular Mexican restaurant after a robbery ended in gun fire.
Late Thursday evening, Memphis Police and Fire crews were called to El Toro Loco in the 2600 block of Poplar Avenue.
When they arrived, a man was found shot and rushed to the hospital.
Investigators told WREG it all started with an altercation in the parking lot.
One person was trying to rob another and ultimately shots were fired.
It all happened as customers were eating and drinking inside the Mexican restaurant.
Customers we spoke to said they were shocked and had no idea anything was going on.
That is until they came outside and noticed all the lights and police in the parking lot.
So far, police have not released the victim’s condition.
