BARTLETT, Tenn. — Two different military sites were attacked leaving four U.S marines dead.
The shooting in Chattanooga raised security concerns across the state.
Paul Greenberg, the Public Affairs Officer out of Washington, DC said the Bartlett office and other recruiting offices across the state have taken extra precautionary steps but he didn’t go into detail.
The Bartlett office was closed and Greenberg wouldn’t comment about whether or not the center was on lock down.
Many people WREG spoke with were shocked that innocent people were killed.
Some said they didn’t think they’re safe anywhere.
WREG spoke with one person who said it was unfortunate something like this happened to people who served our country.
“That is terrible because I’m a veteran myself. That could have easily happened here, sure could,” said Ted Cole.
The Armed Forces Career Center was a few doors down from the Marine Corp. Recruiting Center.
The recruiters there also told WREG they raised their precautionary levels as well.
