MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s a way to remember those who have lost their lives to violence in Memphis and Shelby County.

The fourth annual Season of Remembrance will be held this Monday, November 30 at Memphis City Hall.

“This is our way to publicly acknowledge the importance of each life lost to violence here in Shelby County,” said District Attorney General Amy Weirich. “Not one of these victims should ever be forgotten.”

Families and friends who have lost someone to violence, no matter what year, are welcome to bring an ornament in honor of that person.

During the ceremony, each ornament will be placed on a wreath in the Hall of Mayors.

The display will be open to the public throughout the month of December.

Check-in for families will begin at 5 p.m. Monday.

The ceremony will begin at 5: 30 p.m.

Senior Pastor Rufus Smith of Hope Church will be speaking.

There will also be performances by the PeaceMakers, Sgt. Walter K. Singleton Pipes and Drums, and Deputy O.V. Wright.
