Police on the hunt for 11 stolen guns, suspects arrested

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are searching for nearly a dozen guns stolen from a house in Raleigh, and now unaccounted for in Memphis.

Three people now face charges in connection with the gun burglary including Marcus Benson, Marcy Boyd and Ashley Brown.

Police arrested the trio during a raid at a home on Morehead Wednesday.

Inside the house, detectives discovered two of the stolen guns.

Police say those guns are part of the 13 guns stolen from the Raleigh home earlier this month.

Police have been searching for the weapons for the last few weeks.

“They could shoot and I could be innocent bystander,” said resident Historia Mays.

Police have no idea who has the guns or what their intentions are, but the firearms could be where police found the other two, in North Memphis.

Just yards from where police arrested the three suspects stands Caldwell-Guthrie Elementary School, that concerns neighbors even more.

“I don’t feel safe. I worry about my grand babies,” said Mays.

Benson, Boyd and Brown are believed to be responsible for 15 burglaries in Memphis, stealing much more than weapons.

Police say they found many of those stolen items in the house.

Police say the three told them they didn’t know the stolen property was at their home.

Detectives need help tracking down those missing guns.
