MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are investigating a suspicious person call at Memphis Mayor Paul Young’s house in East Memphis on Sunday.
At 10:08 p.m., officers responded to a suspicious person call at the home.
Police said that residents of the neighborhood reported to officers that they saw a man wearing a grey Nike hoodie, black jogger pants, and black gloves.
According to police, the man was seen knocking on many residents’ doors and wandering around the neighborhood between 9:33 p.m. and 9:38 p.m.
Police said they searched the area and the suspect was no longer present.

We are grateful to the Memphis Police Department for their quick response to this reported activity. MPD has confirmed that there is no indication of an ongoing threat at this time.
The safety of our community, neighborhoods, and city leaders remains a top priority, and as a result of this incident, MPD is reevaluating our security measures.”
