The Memphis Police Department’s community outreach program gave back to dozens of families in need Friday.

Officers with the department’s COP unit handed out Christmas gifts and bikes to more than 70 families at Chickasaw Middle School.

The gift giveaway is part of the unit’s annual Christmas program.

Families were selected by principals at different schools.

Several local companies donated the gifts and food for the event.
