MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A wave of violent crimes struck the Bluff City as Memphis Police responded to at least three shootings, all within the span of four hours.

The violence started shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and carried over into the early morning hours.  

Officers responded to a shooting in the 2800 block of Park Avenue at 8:25 p.m.

A male victim was found and taken to Regional One in critical condition. He ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Officers have one person detained.

Just three hours later, officers responded to another shooting less than a mile away at Airways Boulevard and Park Avenue.

An 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old female victim were taken to Regional One in critical condition.

The female victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

It is unclear if these shootings are connected at this time.

Less than an hour after this call, officers responded to a shooting in Frayser along Range Line Road and James Road at 12:20 a.m.

A female victim was initially taken to Regional One in critical condition. She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
