MPD officer crashes after suffering medical issue

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis police officer was injured in a one-vehicle crash in the Crosstown area Thursday night after experiencing a medical issue.

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. at North Bellevue and North Parkway, where the officer lost control of his police cruiser and crashed into a pole.


The MPD did not disclose the medical issue. The officer was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

On Tuesday, a Memphis Police officer lost control of their squad car and overturned in a parking lot of an apartment complex in the Southwind area.

Police said this was an ongoing investigation.
