MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two West Memphis men have been arrested, and more than 160 pounds of marijuana have been seized after a series of traffic stops along I-40 in Arkansas.

The Arkansas State Police says that troopers conducted the stops between July 9 and July 13 in Pope, Faulkner, and Crawford counties.

ASP says two West Memphis men, 32-year-old James Jones and 37-year-old Christen Springer, were stopped on I-40 in Atkins on July 12. Jones reportedly told troopers that they were traveling from Oklahoma.

During the stop, troopers reportedly found 15 pounds of marijuana wrapped in one-pound bundles in the trunk of their vehicle.

Jones and Springer were charged with felony possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were taken to the Pope County Detention Center, ASP says.
