Parts of Northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel experienced two minor earthquakes early Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 2.6, occurred at 4:11 AM, followed by a second tremor of magnitude 3.0 at 11:30 AM. Both quakes were centered near Highway 78, just outside Blytheville.

The U.S. Geological Survey has received nearly two dozen reports from residents who felt the second earthquake, primarily from the Blytheville area.

While the earthquakes were minor, the reports indicate that they were felt by several residents in the region.
