MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A local Memphis spa was shut down by the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office late Friday night.
Lilly’s Spa, located at 3450 Park Avenue, was operating as a house of prostitution near Park and Highland, according to Memphis Department.
25-year-old Danielle Turner and 26-year-old Melanie Gibson were arrested and charged with promoting prostitution, prostitution, impersonating a licensed professional, money laundering and prohibited acts of an adult oriented establishment.
According to court documents, the spa solicited employees and customers with ads on online websites including adult websites for massage parlors and escort services.
Undercover officers investigated the spa on two recent occasions and found numerous violations of health and municipal codes and ordinances.
One undercover officer said he was propositioned to pay money to the “massage therapists” in return for sexual services and was told that the women have sex with their clients depending on the person and price.
The spa has no license to operate as a massage parlor but does sell adult novelties, has a stripper pole in the waiting room and advertises in a sexually provocative manner and inconsistent with a licensed massage parlor.
A hearing is set for Wednesday March 26 at 10:30am.
