MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A mother is pleading for justice after her son was shot to death almost five years ago.
Kimberly Shaffer, the mother of Darnell Miller, 27, got a knock on her door on August 19, 2020, from Memphis Police saying her son was shot to death in the 2300 block of Pendleton at the Pendleton Pines Apartments.

“I hollered, I hollered, I hollered until I couldn’t holler no more,” said Shaffer.
Darnell was also known as Lorenzo to close family and friends. His mother says her son was generous and kind, so it is hard for her to believe someone would want him dead.
“They shot him three times somewhere in this area, and the last shot was in his face,” said Shaffer.
Schaffer says when the shooter took her son’s life, he also took a father away from his children.
“This was a young guy; he left six boys behind, six. He had six boys, and they took him away from his six boys,” said Shaffer. “Them boys will not get a chance to know their daddy, they will not get a chance to know their daddy.”
Homicide detectives have not released a motive for the shooting, but they need your help solving the case.
