MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man says a 1953 Chevy 210 that took two years to restore was stolen in minutes from a gated garage at an office building in East Memphis in the middle of the night.

Bryson Lochemes said the thief jumped a curb to get inside the garage off Poplar Avenue and made two trips there early Wednesday to steal the antique car and a trailer. It was all captured on camera.

“He came at 4 am and stole the car. There was a female in the vehicle with him, and she drove his truck away. And then he came back at 6 am by himself and stole the car hauler,” said Lochemes.

Lochemes said the vintage Chevrolet was a graduation gift for his son. He said he had been storing the car for his son in the garage, and it can’t be replaced.

“My son graduated high school eight years ago, and he wanted that car. We bought it for him, and we’ve been holding on to it ever since,” Lochemes said.”He doesn’t know it’s gone. We are hoping it will be recovered and brought back to us.”

The suspect was driving a black truck with white or light blue paint along the bottom. The pickup’s bed was also full of tires.

Lochemes said he was contacted by someone on Facebook who believes the same suspect in the same truck broke into his warehouse, stole his antiques, and sold them. Lochemes is asking anyone who spots the truck or the Chevy to contact the police.

“We are going to get some Skycop video back from the Memphis Police Department. Hopefully, we can track the license plate on the car to see exactly where it went,” said Lochemes.
