MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  An 18-year-old accused of shooting a 93-year-old woman to death back in 2024 is detained on a $1 million bond and appeared at a detention hearing on Thursday.

Derrion Taylor, 18, is accused of fatally shooting Geraldine Harris last year.

He is being charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of aggravated assault.

Taylor is facing three felony charges, was given an additional $25,000 bond on Thursday, and he was already given a $1 million bond on Wednesday for the murder of Geraldine Harris.

Taylor was 17 at the time. On July 25, he was captured by U.S. Marshals.

The 18-year-old was back in court for crimes detectives say happened after Ms. Harris was killed.

The judge read Taylor’s latest charges, two counts of theft of property and one count of attempted theft.

Before deciding whether to appoint the teen a court-appointed attorney, the judge asked if Taylor had been in contact with family to see if they could afford counsel.

The teen told the judge he called his mother, and the judge then asked if anyone was in court on his behalf.

Taylor looked at those sitting in the gallery, taking in everyone staring back at him, before shaking his head no.

He was appointed a public defender. His bond will be up for review. WREG will certainly keep you updated.
