MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Storms that rolled through Memphis on Thursday evening have left multiple poles down on Getwell Road.
According to Memphis Light, Gas, and Water, 13 poles are down on Getwell Road near East Shelby Drive.
Just before 7 p.m., Memphis Police responded to a crash involving a light pole that had fallen on a vehicle. Police say no injuries were reported in the crash.
MLGW is urging drivers to avoid the area.
The storms have also left thousands of MLGW customers without power. MLGW is currently reporting nearly 60 outages that are affecting almost 8,000 customers.
MLGW says its crews will be working all day to restore power. The estimated time of restoration is currently 11 p.m.
Those who are experiencing an outage are asked to call 901-544-6500.
MLGW is also urging people to report emergencies such as downed power lines at 901-528-4465.
