MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis Police officer lost control of their squad car and overturned in a parking lot of an apartment complex in the Southwind area on Tuesday, according to the Memphis Police Department.
MPD says they responded to a two-vehicle crash involving one marked police car around 4:50 p.m.
An officer was driving northbound on Eagle Trace Lane in the Lincoln on the Green apartments off Players Club Parkway when it lost control of the squad car, hit a curb, then hit another curb, a tree, and then hit an unoccupied parked vehicle.
The officer was taken to St. Francis Hospital in non-critical condition with minor injuries, police say.
Photos taken at the scene show the cruiser on its roof.
Police say the officer was not en route to a vehicle call and was not in emergency mode when the crash took place.
Both cars were damaged and had to be towed.
