UPDATE: The 16-year-old who was shot Thursday in Holly Springs has been identified by his family as Le’Quavion De’Shun Williamson.

Martezz Monger, 17, is charged with murder and his brother Marquay Monger, 20, is charged with accessory after the fact and hindering prosecution.
Bail was set at $1 million for Martezz Monger on the Murder charge, and $150,000 for Marquay Monger for Accessory After the Fact and Hindering Prosecution.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shooting in Holly Springs, Mississippi left a teenager dead Thursday morning, and another teen is charged with his murder, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department says the shooting took place on the Holly Springs town square. 911 dispatch received the call just before 11 a.m.
Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson, in a handwritten statement, said the 16-year-old victim was shot several times in the chest. He was found on the floor of a vape shop on Memphis Street, and later died.
The suspected shooter fled the area, but was brought to the sheriff’s office by his father, Dickerson said.
The suspect was identified as Martezz Montario Monger, 17, of Holly Springs. He has been charged with murder, and may face other charges, Dickerson said.
Monger’s brother also is in custody and may face charges as well, the sheriff said. Authorities are continuing to investigate.
According to Rust College, the school went on lockdown because the shooter was on the loose.
Mayor Sharon Gipson said she’s praying for the victim’s family and thankful for the tip that led to the apprehension of a suspect.
