MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was found shot in the middle of Lamar Avenue after an overnight shooting near a shopping center, Memphis Police confirm.
Around 10 p.m. Monday, officers responded to 2757 Kimball Avenue after they heard two shots followed by individuals running and screaming. That is when they say they found a woman in the middle of Lamar Avenue with a gunshot wound to her upper right torso.
She was then taken to Regional One Medical Center in critical condition.
Witnesses at the scene say the victim was arguing with a man on the side of a shopping center building when he pulled out a gun and shot her. He was last seen running westbound on Kimball Avenue.
Police say the wanted suspect is a 26-year-old man and was wearing all black with a low afro haircut, armed with a silver handgun.
