MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead after an overnight shooting at a home in Whitehaven, Memphis Police confirm.

Officers say they responded to the 300 block of Burwood Drive regarding a shooting call a little after midnight. A male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was then taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to Colonel Carlos Davis, officers do not know what transpired but they do know the male victim was in the car with other people when the shooting occurred.

Those who live in the Whitehaven neighborhood express how they hear gunshots every night.

“Yes, I am tired of it. I’ve got to be tired of it because it’s dangerous for all of us,” one neighbor said. “It’s just too many things going on in this neighborhood.”

Across town in Frayser, officers responded to another shooting at Infiniti Sports Bar & Grill where an employee accidentally shot himself.

Col Davis says anyone with camera footage or who may have seen anything, is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
