MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Suspects accused of breaking into cars overnight in the Midtown area are still on the run, according to Memphis Police.

Officers say they responded to a vehicle prowler where a group of four men were trying to break into a car. call a little before 1 a.m. at North Avalon Street and Galloway Avenue, a couple of blocks west of Overton Park.

When officers arrived, they said they saw one man flee on foot, and also found a silver Kia left running with the door open. 

WREG crews captured the Memphis Police Department K-9 dog sniffing around as they work to investigate the incident.

It is still unclear how many cars were broken into, and no suspect information is available at this time.

“It’s a quiet neighborhood, and to have people feel so comfortable, so close to our homes, going through our stuff, it’s an invasion of privacy,” said a Midtown resident.
