UPDATE: Darelle Bowers, 37, is charged with first-degree murder in the homicide, according to the Memphis Police Department. He is due in court for a video arraignment Wednesday at 9 a.m.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead after a shooting at a Southeast Memphis fast food restaurant on Monday, according to Memphis police.

At 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at Wendy’s at 7928 Winchester Road.

Police said one man was located and transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

According to MPD, one man has been detained, and preliminary investigations show that the victim and suspect knew each other.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
