MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was shot Sunday at a Church’s Chicken location on Poplar Avenue in the Medical District.

Memphis police say two armed men, one inside the restaurant and one outside, had a verbal altercation around 8 p.m. One of the men shot the other, and there was an exchange of gunfire.

The victim was shot in the abdomen. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police are looking for the alleged gunman, who they say got away in a blue Nissan sedan.
