Man jumps from I-40 bridge into MS river, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man jumped into the Mississippi River Monday morning, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Officers say they responded to the Interstate 40 bridge regarding a check on a welfare call around 11:22 a.m.


Before officers arrived, they say a man had jumped from the bridge and into the river.

At this time, police say Harbor Patrol, aviation, and drones have been used in an attempt to find the man.
