MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is now facing charges after shooting his coworker back in March, Memphis Police say.
On March 14, officers say they responded to an aggravated assault call at PPG Coating Services on 4569 West Distriplex Drive around 9 a.m.
An employee was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. He told police that he and another employee, later identified as Nathan Starks, had an exchange of words while on the production line at work.
That is when the man says Starks walked to his car and returned with his hand in his pocket.
As another employee attempted to hold Starks back, he allegedly pulled out a small, black handgun.
The victim says he turned around and heard a pop followed by the smell of gunfire. When he stepped back, he said he realized he had been shot.
He was then taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses at the scene also corroborated the victim’s statement about the shooting.
Starks was then positively identified in a six-person photo lineup as the person who shot his coworker in the back.

Nathan Starks, 38, is charged with criminal attempt first-degree murder, possession of a firearm/dangerous felony, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Starks is held in jail on a $250,000 bond. He is due in court on Wednesday morning.
