MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The man accused of carjacking a WREG reporter at a South Memphis gas station while he was on assignment Tuesday has been arrested, reports say.
Lashunaye Railford, 43, was charged with Carjacking and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.

On Tuesday, Reporter Mike Suriani was approached while attempting to fill up at the Mobil gas station on E.H. Crump Boulevard and Third Street at around 10:30 a.m.
A man wearing a mask walked up to Suriani with his hand on a gun sticking out of his pocket and demanded his news vehicle. The man got away with the WREG vehicle along with all of Suriani’s personal items and equipment. Suriani was left uninjured.
The Memphis Police Department says the suspect, identified as Railford, was found on Wednesday in the Toyota RAV4 in the 1700 block of South Orleans Street and was taken into custody.
A neighbor told WREG that there were more than five unmarked cars, and more neighbors said it was parked in front of Railford’s apartment building.
They said everybody saw the vehicle, and no one knew it was stolen.
According to reports, Railford had been arrested a couple of times for domestic assault involving girlfriends. Some said he punched them in the face and gave them a black eye.
He was arrested in 2005 for burglary of a motor vehicle and theft and served six months in jail.
And in 2010, he was convicted of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault and served six years.
His bond has not been set. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
