MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two juvenile auto theft suspects were shot, and two more taken into custody after a car wreck and foot chase in southeast Memphis on Tuesday, police said.

Memphis Police say at 10:24 a.m., officers at Winchester and Quince saw a vehicle that appeared to have been in an accident. They then saw several people get out of the car and run away.

Officers took two juveniles into custody after a brief foot chase, then found two more juveniles with gunshot wounds.

The wounded suspects were taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital with non-critical injuries, police said.

Police believe the four had just stolen a vehicle in the area, and a person fired several shots at them, striking two of the juveniles.

The vehicle struck a curb and came to a stop.

One adult male has also been detained, police said.
