MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind will feature a special tribute as a FedEx airplane is dedicated to an 8-year-old St. Jude patient during the 13th Annual Purple Eagle plane dedication.
Bailey, who has been battling Sickle Cell Disease since birth, was honored with her name on a FedEx aircraft, a tradition that celebrates St. Jude patients with connections to the FedEx family.

“It is indescribable, I have been grinning from ear to ear from the day they surprised me with it because everybody knew except for me,” said Grenda, Bailey’s grandmother, who has worked for FedEx for 19 years.
“The FedEx plane on the golf course here at Southwind, of course, caught Fred’s eye, and when I told him McKaylee’s name and St. Jude logo were on the plane, his face lit up. He shook my hand and said we had started a fine FedEx tradition,” said Bill West, Jr., FedEx Vice President of Airline Safety.
“She actually just went to cheerleading camp last week and did pretty good so like I said when she’s not bubbly and running around, then we know something’s wrong,” said Grenda.
Bailey’s name will be displayed at the tournament all weekend.
