PANOLA CO., Miss. — The families of two missing Panola County men are making an emotional plea.

Batesville native Larry James Robinson, Jr., 47, and Sardis native Wayne Miller, 33, have been missing for weeks.

Annette Haynes, mother of Wayne Miller, spoke to her son when he was headed to Memphis. Miller was last seen on February 3.

“He said, ‘Momma, you know you got a birthday coming up. I’m gonna get you something nice for your birthday.’ I just laughed. From there on I haven’t heard from my baby,” she said.

Miller was seen on camera around the intersection of Highway 51 and Highway 315 in Sardis, but on February 5 the vehicle he was driving was found near Zodiac Park in South Memphis with a tire missing and the key in the front seat but no cell phone.

Robinson was last seen on January 22.

“He and I, we’ve always been close,” said his mother Rosetta Robinson. “He’s a momma’s boy. He would always come by to check on me.”

Friday, Panola County Sheriff Shane Phelps briefed the families, assuring family members that his department is following up on every tip.

One of those tips led investigators to a spot along Barnacre Road in Panola County. They brought search teams, cadaver dogs, boats, and even drones to search a pond and a large wooded area, but nothing turned up.

The families are now clinging to hope and asking the public for help.

“We are asking that you would please come forward and share what you know,” Rosetta Robinson said. “If it was your family you would want somebody to tell you something. We just want to know.”

If you know the whereabouts of Larry James Robinson, Jr, or Wayne Miller, you are asked to contact the Panola County Sheriff, Panola County CrimeStoppers, or the Batesville Police Department.
