MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Marion, Arkansas, man has been charged with sex crimes against children who were younger than 10 years old.

Crittenden County Sheriff Mike Allen says 63-year-old Kenneth Phillips has been arrested on three counts of sexual assault of a minor in the second degree, as well as aggravated assault on a minor.

The sheriff said Phillips is accused of assaulting two children, but did not give other details.

Phillips was arrested at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Allen says warrants for Phillips’s arrest were issued out of the West Memphis District Court.

Phillips is currently in the Crittenden County Jail. He is expected to be in court on Friday morning.
