Southaven police launch homicide investigation after 14-year-old found dead

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — The Southaven Police Department is investigating after a teenager was found dead Wednesday morning. According to authorities, dispatch received a call of a suspicious person lying on the ground next to a vehicle at the corner of Tuscany Way and Surrey Lane just before 6 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found a 14-year-old male dead from a gunshot wound. It’s a shocking day for residents that describe the neighborhood as free of crime and violence. “I bought this place in 1981. Never had any kind of problem.
