A traffic stop and search were conducted by agents. During the search, agents found two loaded firearms, 254 pounds of promethazine, also known as “Lean”, “Purple Drank,” or “Sizzurp,” over 100 opioid pills, and three pounds of marijuana in a rental car.

Agents said four people were arrested on different drug and weapon charges.

After further investigation, agents found that the promethazine had been very recently stolen from a pharmaceutical supply business in Houston, Texas.

Agents said they are working with Houston investigators and that more charges will likely be added in Haywood County and Houston, Texas, as well.

The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest.
