The Sheriff’s Office say they remain dedicated to resolving both the abandoned infant case and the ongoing investigation at the crime scene in Lake County. Both the TBI and FBI have been called in to investigate.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Deputies have identified three people, possibly involved in abandoning a baby after the infant was dropped off in a car seat at a Dyer County home on Tuesday.
Dyer County deputies said that they have identified the child and want to speak with Cortney Rose, Matthew Wilson, and Adrianna Williams.
At 3:11 p.m., the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an incident on Old Highway 20 near the Tigrett Area.

Deputies said that a dark colored minivan or a white mid-sized SUV was reported to have dropped off a baby in a car seat at a random person’s front yard.
They said a witness saw the child and called 911.
The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol, is actively investigating this situation.
They said details are very limited as they are in the early stages of this investigation.
The Medical Center EMS and Crockett County Ambulance Service were called to evaluate the child.
“We have no idea why they dropped the child off, we got a description of the vehicle, we’re now trying to locate that vehicle,” said Chief Investigator Terry McCreight.
The sheriff’s department Facebook post has over 1,800 shares that helped them identify the child.
“Our information officer put a Facebook post up and immediately hit social media and within 30 minutes we knew who the child was,” said McCreight.
McCreight said he is in disbelief that a baby was abandoned in someone’s front yard on the hottest day of the year so far.
Meteorologists say that at 3 p.m., when the baby was found in a car seat, it was 96 degrees with a heat index of 111 degrees in Dyer County. It is not known how long the baby was outside before someone found the child.
