MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man wanted for a double shooting that injured two Hickory Hill teenagers last year is now behind bars.

21-year-old Jajuan Herron is charged with attempted first degree murder for an August 2015 shooting on Birch Walk Dr. that injured two teenage girls.

He was taken into custody Thursday after a traffic stop in South Memphis.

Police say they spotted Herron in Frayser after he ran a stop sign near Westside Middle School around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Officers followed him to I-240 and Norris Road — where he and another man began running.

Police arrested Herron and 26-year-old Quinterius Gude in the woods nearby for evading arrest.

They’re also facing drug charges after police found marijuana in Herron’s vehicle.

Herron’s 5-year-old daughter was also in the car.

She wasn’t hurt and is now with her mother.

Both Herron and Gude will be in court on Friday.
