MEMPHIS — College football coaches around the country don’t seem all that excited about Ryan Silverfield and his Tigers as the preseason Coaches poll was released Monday with Memphis failing to land a spot in the Top 25.

The Tigers settling for 34th after receiving 34 votes from the coaches which was tops in the American Conference but more than 200 votes behind 25th-ranked Boise State.

This for a Tiger team that’s won a program record 21 games over the last two seasons. But a Tiger team that’s also under going a major overhaul, losing a ton of players including four-year starting quarterback Seth Henigan.

The SEC placing nine teams in the Top 25.

Texas at number 1.

Ole Miss is picked 15th. Tennessee is 18th.

The preseason AP Poll drops next Monday.
