MEMPHIS — It is considered the unofficial kickoff of the college football season.
And it’s next week.
SEC Media Days from Atlanta starts on Monday.
But in three weeks, the Memphis Tigers will open fall practice with the biggest question on this new look tiger team, of course, is at quarterback where Seth Henigan left some really big cleats to fill.
Nevada transfer Brendon Lewis looks to have the upper hand heading into preseason camp. Lewis out to hold off true freshman AJ Hill and redshirt freshman Arrington Maiden.
But not to worry, Memphis Offensive Coordinator Tim Cramsey says a decision on QB 1 will be made before the August 30th season opener against Chattanooga.
“No it won’t go into the season. No. It’ll be a couple of weeks before the first game that we, coach and myself, make that final decision,” Cramsey said. “You got to be able to put the starting quarterback in front of them for awhile.”
