GREAT BRITAIN — Meet Lydia Sebastian.
She’s the 12-year-old British girl who scored a perfect 162 on the Mensa IQ test, beating other notable geniuses like Stephan Hawking and Albert Einstein both by two points.
According to the Mirror, Sebastian had been talking with her parents for over a year about taking the Cattrall III B paper.
Knowing how smart she was, her parents encouraged her to take it, but they never imagined a perfect score was in their daughter’s future.
“When I heard she had the maximum possible mark, I was overwhelmed and so was my wife,” said Arun Sebastian, Lydia’s father. “Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking got an IQ of 160. To be honest, I didn’t really believe it.”
“At first, I was really nervous but once I started, it was much easier than I expected it to be and then I relaxed,” Sebastian told news reporters in Essex. “I gave it my best shot really.”
“I don’t think I can be compared to such great intellectuals such as Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking,” she told CNN. “They’ve achieved so much. I don’t think it’s right.”
Her unbelievable score allows her to join the 120,000 other individuals from more than 100 countries around the world who can say they are among the smartest people in the world.
So what’s next for one of the 12-year-old?
Sebastian, who is about to enter her second year of high school, said she isn’t sure what she wants to be when she grows up, but told CNN it would be something to do with math, her favorite subject.
