MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Diversity in dogs was celebrated today during Pride Month in downtown Memphis.
The celebrations included man’s best friend in all shapes, forms and paws.
The Moxy Memphis, just off North Front Street, played host to the third annual Puppy Pride Parade.
Dozens of pooches, along with their human companions, made their way out to celebrate this vibrant event, as they paraded through Court Square Park.
There were vendors on hand, an incredible DJ, great musical performances and even a doggy drag show.
Organizers said this family-friendly event is needed now more than ever.
“Well, we are going through a hard time in our nation right now [and] around the world as well,” Matt Riddle said. “So, I am looking forward to people reaching out. I’ve seen it more these days – more than ever – and I am excited to see the amount of people here to celebrate Pride.”
As the event rages on, Riddle invites everyone to come and enjoy the festivities.
“You are not alone in this world,” Riddle said. “Get out of your house and enjoy yourself. We are here for you.”
