MARKS, Miss. — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a child and sent two adults to the hospital.

MHP says the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 9th at U.S. Highway 278 and Tutor Road, west of Marks.

According to investigators, the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe was heading south of Tutor Road when it collided with a 2006 Ford Escape that was heading east on U.S. Highway 278.

MHP says a child, who was a passenger in the Ford Escape, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name and age of the child have not been released by authorities.

The drivers of both vehicles survived and were taken a local hospital for treatment.
