MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A third suspect is now in custody for the theft of a dog earlier this month in the Graceland area.

Tamgium Carr,36, was booked into the Shelby County Jail late Thursday on theft and burglary charges.

The dog, named Dixie, belonged to a Canadian couple. They were visiting Graceland for Elvis’ birthday celebration.

The Yorkie was stolen from the couple’s car, which parked at the China Inn restaurant on Elvis Presley Boulevard, on January 7.

A week later, police found the dog at a home in the 5200 block of Haleville. The dog was then reunited with its owners.

The other suspects — Lynda Hinkley and Eugene Richmond — are facing theft and accessory after the fact charges.

Carr is due in court on Monday.
