MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was shot to death at the Cook Out located in southeast Memphis Wednesday morning.

The incident took place in the 7700 block of Winchester Road. A little before 1 a.m., officers responded to a shooting.

A man was found shot; he was pronounced dead.

When WREG arrived, we saw multiple evidence markers on the scene. A forensic truck was also leaving the fast food restaurant.

A viewer reached out to WREG, telling us he was standing right here when he saw the shooting unfold. “It looked like they pulled in to do a job and they did it, I guess,” he told us.

He tells us there were two shooters and two people outside.

“One had a rifle and the other had some kind of lower caliber gun but it was firing automatic. It was firing continuously. They shot at the car and then at the building. A guy ran into the back and ran from the side of the building to the back door,” he said.

MPD placed more than 50 shell casing markers, as bullets hit cars in the Whataburger parking lot and its front door.

“They were firing shots as they were backing towards the car,” the eyewitness said. “It looked like a white Infiniti G35. Both [suspects] got in, sped away and hopped on 385.”

At this time, MPD has not released any information on the suspect.
