MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A convicted felon was arrested again on Saturday after police say he stole a woman’s car in Whitehaven earlier this month.
Wayne Sanders, 31, is charged with theft of property $2,500-$10,000, theft of property $1,000-$2,500, evading arrest, possession of a prohibited weapon, and three counts of convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

On February 16, officers say they responded to a Dollar Tree on Elvis Presley Boulevard around 5:21 p.m. regarding a stolen vehicle.
The victim stated that she was standing in line when a man approached her, demanding her car keys. That is when the man allegedly snatched the keys from her and left the scene in her Chrysler Crossfire.
On February 24, around 1:24 p.m., officers say they saw the vehicle in South Memphis driving on Wabash Avenue.
As the officers waited for backup, two male suspects got out of the stolen vehicle and ran away.
MPD says the driver of the stolen vehicle, later identified as Wayne Sanders, went into an occupied residence in an attempt to hide in the attic. Police say he was armed with several weapons.
Sanders was taken into custody during that time.
After officers checked the area where the suspect was located, they recovered three weapons; a Draco 762×39-loaded, a Glock 21 .45 caliber-loaded, and a Glock 19 .9mm with a switch attached.
The Glock 19 was reported stolen from Southaven, Mississippi, police say.
Back in May 2014, Sanders was convicted of aggravated assault and served six years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
Wayne Sanders is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
