Meteorologist
Jake’s passion for weather began at a young age, when Hurricane Katrina devastated his hometown of Slidell, LA. He actually stood in the eye of the hurricane as it passed through.
Jake graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology.
During his senior year at Mississippi State, Jake had the opportunity to kick off his TV career as the weekend meteorologist for WTOK in Meridian, MS. After graduation, he went on to work at WBRZ in Baton Rouge, where he covered two back-to-back historic hurricane seasons. Louisiana was directly impacted by seven named storms while he was there. Before arriving in Memphis, Jake worked in Jackson, MS where he covered multiple tornado outbreaks. The aftermath of the Rolling Fork, MS EF4 tornado (March 2023) is something he will never forget.
In his spare time, Jake likes to travel, exercise and hang out with his dog Winston. He also loves trying new restaurants, so feel free to send recommendations his way! He is excited to now call the Mid-South home.
