MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss. — A little boy broke down in tears more than 200 days after someone murdered his father.
“Why would you do that? He loved us,” he said. “We talked about watching movies and stuff.”
Will Phillips and Jamon Moton were shot and killed in January.
Their bodies were tossed on the side of Moore Road in Red Banks.
“I don’t know how you could just take someone’s life and throw them on the side of the road like they’re nothing,” said Tiffany Richard.
Phillips was pronounced dead on the scene.
“He’s caring. He always gives me hugs, kiss me, and tell me he loves me.”
Moton died in the hospital.
“I saw him take his last breath,” said Delois Bowen.
Since then, its been months of tears and sleepless nights, knowing the killer is still out there on the streets.
“I have so much anger built up inside of me.”
“There’s a lot of people that know what happened. There’s a lot of people that can tell you everything about what happened. There’s a lot of people who could tell you who the killer is,” said Kelly McMillen with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators said witnesses are being threatened by the bad guys and preventing people from coming forward, so they brought their message to the people Tuesday.
“Man, I used to love hanging around folks. Now I don’t know who the enemies are. I don’t know who to trust,” said James Bowen, Moton’s father.
A cash reward is being offered for information.
