MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss. –Officers are investigating the deaths of two men found in Marshall County.
The discovery was made early Friday morning on South Mullens Road.
“A friend of mine was coming in here, looks like he’s got a pretty bad pig weed, and he was coming back here to check for spray and he found it this morning,” said Robert Woods.
He said his friend was caught off guard when he found the body.
Sheriff Kenney Dickerson with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said the body was decomposed, but it isn’t clear what caused the death.
When we spoke with him, Woods said he wasn’t surprised.
“Three bodies in two years, get used to it,” he told WREG. “Found a burned vehicle two springs ago on another farm. Seems to be where the trouble comes.”
Investigators found another body about an hour and a half earlier.
They said someone called 911 when they found that man’s body on Union Valley Road.
“It’s going to be, obviously in my opinion, he died of criminal means. It was spot in his lower back. It appeared to be, in my opinion, a gun shot wound. A lot of the skin was off his back, consist of other being dragged or hung under a vehicle,” said Sheriff’ Kenney Dickerson.
Our cameras were there as investigators searched for a man reportedly seen in the victim’s Ford pick up.
Investigators spotted him on West Street, and that’s when he allegedly jumped out of the truck and ran into the woods.
A helicopter from the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office helped search.
It’s unclear at this time how the victims died.
They are still searching for suspects and both incidents.
